As This Morning began, host Phillip Schofield was seen in the back of a cab stuck in a traffic jam trying to get to the studio. Warning his co-host Holly Willoughby that he might miss the start of the special show, he explain he needed help and warned ‘be quick’. Holly then set about making a few calls. ITV Launches New This Morning App

To coincide with the 30th anniversary of the nation’s longest-running and best-loved daytime show, ITV is launching a brand new This Morning app. Available to download for free today on mobile and tablet, the brand new app will allow fans to get even closer to the programme. It will accompany the show with features, videos, image galleries and more spanning entertainment, food, fashion, health, celebrity and human interest stories and interviews. As well as clips from the show, the app will also include the opportunity for viewers to have their say on topics discussed in the programme, interactive polls and quizzes, a live streaming feature, competitions and exclusive videos, including the show’s Best Bits. ITV will broadcast live coverage of the wedding of HRH Princess Eugenie of York and Mr Jack Brooksbank on October 12th in an extended This Morning special, This Morning at the Royal Wedding (9.25am – 12.30pm (BST)). On October 12th, ITV’s award-winning morning show will be on air at the earlier time of 9.25am (BST), with Eamonn Holmes OBE and Ruth Langsford coming live from Windsor. This Morning at the Royal Wedding will capture the atmosphere and arrivals at St George’s Chapel, with Eamonn and Ruth joined by guests, commentators and experts for this specially extended programme. Gemma Collins and Richard Blackwood are the first celebrity skaters confirmed for a brand new series of Dancing on Ice 2019, which returns to ITV in the New Year. Gemma and Richard were announced during a live appearance on today’s This Morning. Both will be getting their skates and sequins on ready to compete alongside eleven other celebrities in the quest for glory, under the watchful eye of the skating legends Torvill and Dean, who head up the judging panel. ITV greenlights a fourth series of hit drama, Unforgotten

ITV has announced that critically acclaimed drama, Unforgotten, will return for a fourth series. Produced by Sally Haynes and Laura Mackie’s Mainstreet Pictures, the new series will see BAFTA award nominees Nicola Walker (Last Tango In Halifax, The Split) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Goodness Gracious Me, Paddington 2) reprise their roles as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan as they investigate another emotionally charged and compelling cold case. Praised for its realistic portrayal of a police procedural, empathetic approach and powerful performances, each series of Unforgotten follows the unravelling of a historical crime. Peston launches new Wednesday show

Robert Peston’s political magazine show moves to Wednesday nights next week – to provide viewers with a fresh, intelligent and lively perspective on the big matters of the day in a brand new slot. Promising a stellar line-up of guests from across the political spectrum as well as cultural figures, Peston will feature major interviews with Westminster heavy hitters, topical guests and the very latest political gossip from inside the bubble. The hour-long programme will be broadcast live on Twitter in a first for British terrestrial TV, as well as on the itv News website while it is recorded from 8pm before it airs on itv at 10.40pm.
