Well, you're here, so it looks like you want to know about us!
Hello. How are you today? The reason we ask is because this is quite a difficult page to write, because it is never about us… It is always about you… And what we can do together to help you.
But, as you are here, you are obviously curious, so let us explain a little bit ABOUT US!
We will tackle this in reverse order, because the name Mad Black Cat comes from two parts, one part humen (the least important in a way), and one part feline (and everyone knows cats rule!)
If all you actually want to know is what we do, we help! That’s it! Marketing, sales, business growth… You can read more about that at the very end, if you want to jump ahead!
The Black Cat Part 1
Originally, when we created Mad Black Cat, the Black Cat was singular, refering to a beloved black cat called Lanson. The classier amongst us might realise she was named after Lanson Black Label Champagne!
You can see Lanson on the original logo above, and also a picture of her as a kitten, exploring the world.
Lanson was a beloved companion, who gave us pleasure in her company for many years (the “us” explanation will follow, don’t worry).
The Black Cat Part 2
Another black cat came into our world some years ago, who was dumped in a black dustbin bag, along with her kittens, a car just pulled up, a woman got out, took the dustbin bag from the boot, dumped it and drove off!
The kittens were all picked up by passers-by, leaving the mother alone, lost, and lonely. We started to feed her and win her trust, naming her ODC, which was short for Out Door Cat! Because that is what she was… At first!
There is a lot more to the story of ODC, which we might share in the future, but for now, we will say that she too (along with the next batch of kittens which she moved in with us) was also a loving companion for many years, and actually became a local, and very popular and loved character.
When Two Become One!
And so, you know who Lanson and ODC are, and they now, together, form the Black Cat part, and are the stars of this website, and you can see them on the logo, and appearing in most of the features and articles we produce, with ODC on the left, sporting her red collar and bell that she liked so much, and Lanson on the right, as the kitten which she first appeared as in the original logo.

Now the MAD part!
This is the easiest, and shortest part, because the MAD, comes from the humans behind this, Mark And Derek, or, specifically, Mark Nolan and Derek Appleton!
What We Do!
We help YOU! That’s what we do. We help you and your business, through marketing, promotion, guidance, advice… Whatever you need!
