In the interests of transparency and openness, we want to explain exactly how AI is used on this website.
We are leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our work, in order to assist us in providing more information in a timely manner.
The majority of content on this website is devised by humans, based on researched or learned information. However, some of the content, and structure, is presented and mixed together using AI as an assitance tool, rather than an automated creator, with everything overseen and checked by the humans who guide the AI to conclusion.
So, how do we actually use AI?
Images – The images you see are all created by AI, as you probably worked out the two cats, ODC and Lanson, in the images are generally crafted in an animation style. ODC and Lanson were real, sadly no longer with us, and their real images are used to create their characters in the scenes designed by the human to put them into context. AI then puts all of that together, and creates the images.
Articles – The humans (or, to be honest, mostly a sole human named Mark Nolan) drafts out the structure and plan for the article, including the specific angles, if needed, and context, as well as source information (which we will always identify if possible), and guides AI to create the body of the text. That text is then usually altered by the human, shifted around and made more reader-friendly, before being published.
Videos – If we create animated videos, we use AI to assist us in scene creation, and the process of animation, largely because AI can generate the scene in a matter of seconds, rather than the weeks or months of traditional advertising. We then manually edit the scenes for the output.
Audio – For audio such as podcasts (or thier variations) there is a mixture of real voice, voiced and recorded live by Mark Nolan, and his cloned voice, but when the latter is used, all of the input is created by humans, and the output checked for obvious issues before publishing.
Songs – We craft the songs manually, initially, then use a variety of AI tools to structure and output them, which should not be too much of a surprise, because when we have raccoons singing, for example… Raccoons are not known for singing!
That is probably everything, but if we missed anything out, it is not because we are hiding it, it is because we are human, and just forgot! You are wecome to ask us, as our intention is to be transparent, not only to comply with legislation, but because we think it is important that you know, and it might even help you develop your own AI integrations.
